Ralph Smedley founded Toastmasters on
October 22, 1924 in Santa Ana, CA. Club
number 1 still exists today as the first
official club of Toastmasters
International.

TOASTMASTERS - CLUB 280 South Bay Club
280 was chartered on September 20, 1944.
We are one of the longest established
clubs in the world and one of the
largest Toastmaster clubs in the Los
Angeles area. Our meetings are well
attended, ranging from 15 to 20 members
and guests every week.

Club 280 continues to meet weekly
through virtual meetings online,
instead of in-person. Guests are more
encouraged than ever to join us online
and experience what becoming a

WHAT TO EXPECT
Our weekly meetings follow a timed
agenda and is broken up in two sections.
We encourage guests to arrive 10-15
minutes early for proper introductions.
Meetings run for two hours, starting at
7:00 pm and ending at 9:00 pm.
